A wedding is a major event in one's life and I'm very excited that Engineering A Cake came to mind during your wedding planing process. Our cakes are made completely from scratch and each cake is designed for the couple of the day. We have a strict policy of one wedding a weekend, that way all attention to detail will be focused on your day only. That said, it's best to let us know of your date as soon as possible, as to not be left disappointed. You know, It's probably best for me to just walk through the process so let's talk about cake!
Let's Talk About Cake!
Once you have selected a date for your event, please fill out our contact form as soon as possible, and feel free to add in any inspiration photos, an ideal guest count, and even the color scheme. Our initial consultation will take place via email or phone. Once we have covered the basics, we will set up a tasting appointment where we will discuss your event details, flavor options, budget, and design ideas. If you wish to not have a tasting, no worries as we can still discuss all things important via a phone call.
Let's Taste Cake!
Design and flavor options are finalized during your tasting, where you will have three flavors to sample. A $50.00 tasting fee will be collected prior to your appointment and only credited towards final orders with $400.00 minimum. All design and pricing details are confirmed via email, along with a finalized cake sketch. Each cake is individually priced depending on size and design but all weddings start at $250.00. After discussing the details, the couple will be left to finalizing the contact sheet, signing the contract, and a 40% deposit that is required to save the date. Please note that your order will not be confirmed until the deposit is paid.
Let Them Eat Cake!
Three weeks prior to your event date, the remaining 60% final payment is due. All wedding quotes include delivery to the venue and all cakes get delivered in a "Cakesafe" to insure that your cake looks its absolute best on your big day. This is your time to relax; everything is left in the hands of Engineering A Cake and though you probably will not see us at your wedding you'll be sure to notice the cake that will be there for you, your family, and your friends to enjoy. That's it! You will now forever be apart of Engineering A Cake's family!
